Breast Examination

Why is breast examination important and what are the types of breast examination?

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in Singapore. All women are at risk of breast cancer, and the risk increases with age.

Although breast cancer symptoms vary widely, many breast cancers have no obvious symptoms at all. Thus, it is important to go for regular mammograms to detect breast cancer early. Performing a monthly breast self-examination also keeps you aware of any changes to your breasts. The earlier breast cancer is detected and diagnosed, the higher your chances of successful treatment.
