Dr Tricia Kuo is a UK fellowship trained Senior Urologist who graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2004 and completed her advanced traineeship in Urology in 2012. In 2013, Dr Tricia Kuo was awarded the College of Surgeons Gold Medal Award for Urology and completed Fellowship at Royal Hallamshire Hospital and Princess Royal Spinal Injuries Unit, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals in Sheffield, United Kingdom. The Fellowship in Royal Hallamshire Hospital focused on Female Urology, Urodynamics and Reconstructive Urology. Dr Tricia Kuo was also a Clinical Lecturer at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School.

Dr Tricia Kuo has a special interest in Functional Urology dealing with bladder related symptoms, urinary incontinence and female urogenital prolapse. Her sub-specialised procedures include; tapes, slings, injectables and artificial urinary sphincter, injection of bladder relaxing medication, Sacral Nerve Stimulation (SNS), Posterior Tibial Nerve Stimulation (PTNS) and Reconstructive Urology such as Urethroplasty for Urethral Strictures, Urethral Diverticulum and repair of Vesico-Vaginal Fistula (VVF).

Background

Dr Tricia Kuo is currently a Visiting Consultant at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Sengkang General Hospital, Singapore General Hospital and Thomson Medical, and was formerly a Consultant Urologist at Sengkang General Hospital and Singapore General Hospital, and Director of Female and Reconstructive Urology Service at Singapore General Hospital.

Dr Tricia Kuo is an active speaker and has presented at various local and international conferences including Nepal, Philippines and Australia. She is also a reviewer for articles for several journals and most recently for the conference abstracts of European Urology (EAU). She is an active researcher who has published several studies relating to Urology in particular, the functional and reconstructive aspect of Urology. Dr Tricia Kuo is currently carrying out research on developing a device for stress urinary incontinence and developing new urinary catheters. In addition, she is also involved in local and regional advisory board meetings for overactive bladder and nocturia issues. Dr Tricia Kuo has a keen interest in research and has published several studies relating to Urology in particular, the functional and reconstructive aspect of Urology. She is currently carrying out research on developing a device for stress urinary incontinence and developing new urinary catheters.

Dr Tricia Kuo has been recognised by patients and colleagues for her outstanding service at Singapore General Hospital and won the “Service with a Heart Award”.
