In conjunction with World Health Day, Dr Nelson Wee shares his thoughts and advices on how you can cultivate good lifestyle habits with exercise, sleep and diet on this episode with Channel 8 World.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Dr Wee have seen an increased in the number of patients seeking advices for sleeping issues since the start of the pandemic. Stemming from 2 main groups are:
- Those who are seeking help as the lack of sleep has affected their work/study performances
- Those who do not know that their health issues such as headaches, blurred vision, giddiness and increase in hair loss are caused by the lack of sleep
With a growing trend of young people developing the 3 Highs and becoming obese, it is important to pay attention to the diet during our youths to prevent such health issues from developing in the later years. Some tips by Dr Wee include consuming fruit and vegetables of different varieties as they are packed with vitamins and fibre that will help improve diet.
If obesity runs in your family, it is recommended to have regular body check-ups early in the years that may help detect early onsets.
