Dr Chong Kian Chun

Dr Chong Kian Chun graduated from the National University of Singapore with the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1997.  He subsequently obtained the Master of Medicine in Orthopaedics (MMed) from the National University of Singapore in 2001.  In 2004, Dr Chong was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) of Edinburgh (Orthopaedics).  He subsequently underwent subspecialty training in Sports Orthopaedics at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.  

Dr Chong’s subspecialty interest is in minimally invasive arthroscopic reconstructive surgery of the hip, knee and shoulder.  He is one of the few Orthopaedic surgeons in Singapore who is trained in the techniques of hip arthroscopy.  Common procedures performed by Dr Chong include:

• Hip arthroscopic surgery, including femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) decompression and labral repair
• Knee arthroscopic surgery, including anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, multi-ligament knee reconstruction, meniscus repair and cartilage resurfacing
• Shoulder arthroscopic surgery, including rotator cuff repair, shoulder stabilisation and stiff shoulder release.
