In today’s interview on 96.3 好FM, Dr Wong Chin Khoon, Paediatrician from SBCC Baby & Child Clinic (Tiong Bahru), addressed the recent spike of measles cases both locally and and on a global scale. Dr Wong shared with listeners more about the measles virus, how it spreads, symptoms and signs to look out for, and how dangerous it can be. The common symptoms of measles includes runny nose, cough and small white spots developing on the inner cheeks. Dr Wong also answered audiences’ questions sent in via Whatsapp, such as, “Can one still contract measles after receiving the MMR vaccination?” He concluded the interview with further information on booster shots, how should babies can be protected from the virus, and if it is necessary to get vaccinated before travelling overseas.
